  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp fine sea salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter slightly softened (two sticks)
  • 0.5 cup sugar
  • 1.25 cups packed light brown sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 0.25 cup chocolate chips for topping after baking

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Combine flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Cream together butter, sugar, and brown sugar until creamy.
  4. Add vanilla and eggs, mix until creamy.
  5. Gradually add flour mixture, mix until soft dough forms.
  6. Stir in chocolate chips.
  7. Scoop dough onto baking sheet, leaving space between cookies.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until edges are golden brown. Sprinkle with additional chocolate chips if desired.

Notes

For best results, use room temperature butter and don't overbake the cookies.
