  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cream butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
  3. Beat in eggs, then vanilla extract.
  4. Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mix until combined.
  6. Stir in chocolate chips.
  7. Drop by tablespoons onto baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 9-11 minutes, until edges are golden brown.
  9. Cool on baking sheets before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For extra chewy cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
