Ingredients
  

Cookie Dough
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened at room temperature
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg large
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour measured correctly
  • 1 Tbsp baking powder use aluminum free
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350 °F. Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  2. Beat butter and sugar. Add vanilla and egg; beat to combine.
  3. Add flour in 3 parts until fully incorporated.
  4. Divide dough, roll to ¼-inch thickness, and cut out shapes.
  5. Bake at 350˚F for 10 minutes, or until edges turn golden.
  6. Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For best results, chill the dough for 30 minutes before rolling.
