  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup packed brown sugar for chewiness!
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips semi-sweet or milk

Method
 

  1. Prep: Heat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets.
  2. Cream: Beat butter + sugars until fluffy.
  3. Wet Mix: Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla. Mix until smooth.
  4. Dry Mix: Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt. Stir into wet mix.
  5. Chips: Fold in chocolate. Save some for topping.
  6. Bake: Drop dough 2” apart. Bake 10-12 min until edges are golden.
  7. Cool: Let sit 5 min on pan. Devour warm or move to a rack.

Notes

For extra chewy cookies, use more brown sugar than granulated sugar.
